Wreckless Eric Radio Show #24 (click to tune in)

Discombobulated in a room full of electrical junk. Music from Badfinger, The Research Turtles, Lil Band O Gold, McGinty & White. Link Wray, MC Honky, Big Dee Irwin, The Byrds... plus some syrupy background music, The Doctor Kildare Theme, and the ramblings of a man driven half crazy by recording processes and cable management.

Hey, Eric - this was a fantastic show.....one of the best, I think. Really excellent mix of music (as always). Man, I really like the Research Turtles (well, ever since the last show you played them on)....& you know I always appreciate syrupy background music.

Thx -- E

PS - ignore my previous deleted posts - I'm just an idiot (in other words, I didn't pay attention before posting) -

I had a babysitter who got excited when Come and Get It came on the radio -- it was her and her boyfriend's "song". That was the first time I'd heard of that concept of having your own song.

I was given a gift of two early 70s Link Wray albums back in 1983. I was disappointed at the time that they weren't like Rumble, but I enjoyed the track you played just now.

This "record" you're making ....another single? An elpee?

The new record is going to be an LP, a long player that is, it may or may not make it onto vinyl depending on the financials. We're rushing to get it finished by the end of March to make it available for the June US tour.
I don't own any Skeeter Davis records I'm ashamed to say. Amy met her though and still has her phone number in her address book, not that it's much use now.

Another top notch show.

I went and bought that McGinty and White record based on the last time you played them. It's really rather good.
When are you going to announce your American dates? Make sure you come to DC or it's environs, or there'll be trouble.

What a great show! Big Dee Irwin was one of the first records I owned, my bossy big sister bought it for me along with 'Life gets Teejus, don't it'. I think she was trying to tell me something. It was the same big sister whose boyfriend loaned me 'All Shook Up' and 'Cradle Rock', and the world tilted on it's axis a little…

Delighted to find this Eric, big fan of 'Brain Theives' Horrified to discover I missed you when you came to Pompey in March. Like your missus' 'Needy Men' loads. Whatever you play is all right with me, but have you thought of 'Buddy can you spare a dime' by Ronnie Lane?
